What is Paint Pourri?
Paint Pourri is not a scented paint – it
is an air freshener that uses paint as a carrier!
When a 1 oz. package of Paint Pourri is added to
a gallon of paint, the result is a long-lasting air
freshener that helps combat odors for up to 6-12
months! As we at Scent-it say, “Turn your paint
into a long-lasting air freshener!”
Why should I use Paint
Pourri?
Paint Pourri was developed to provide a pleasant,
long lasting fragrance and to help neutralize odors,
including the natural odor of paint. Paint Pourri
can be used to combat pet odors, smoke odors or
just to refresh a room.
How long will the fragrance
last?
Under optimum conditions Paint Pourri produces
a pleasant fragrance and helps combat odors for
up to 6-12 months in smaller areas and 4-6 months
in larger areas. For best results, we recommend
using two (2) coats with Paint Pourri in both the
primer coat and topcoat when painting.
How strong is the fragrance
level?
Paint Pourri was developed to provide a pleasant,
long lasting fragrance and to help neutralize odors,
including the natural odor of paint. The ratio
recommendation of mixing one ounce per one gallon
of paint produces a very subtle, pleasant fragrance.
Paint Pourri was not designed to produce an overwhelming
aroma, however, we understand that desired fragrance
levels vary from consumer to consumer and if a
stronger fragrance level is desired, an additional
pouch can be added to the gallon of paint. You
control the fragrance level!
What fragrances are available
in Paint Pourri?
Paint Pourri is currently available in eight pleasant
fragrances: Tropical Winds, Simply Citrus, Ocean
Breeze, Soft Vanilla, Wildflower, Airy Fresh, Lavender
Breeze and Simply Clean. Send your recommendations
for new fragrances to be introduced in the future
to info@scent-it.co.za. Based on previous feedback
from consumers, we will be introducing a cedar
fragrance for use in closets, drawers, lodges,
etc. in the near future.
Will Paint Pourri affect
the color of my paint?
Paint Pourri should not affect the color, quality
or application of paint.
What type of paints can
I use with Paint Pourri?
Paint Pourri is formulated for use in Latex or
Latex Enamel paints. It can be used with oil-based
paints to reduce the odor of the paint, but is
not recommended for use with it as an air freshener.

Paint Pourri is ideal for almost any room· basements,
garages, kitchens, sunrooms, bathrooms, family rooms,
breakfast rooms, dining rooms, foyers, bedrooms,
closets, pool houses, bonus rooms, hallways, laundry
rooms, mud rooms, etc. It can also be used in rental
properties, hotels, motels, apartments, public restrooms,
locker rooms, and the practical applications are
unlimited!

Can I make the fragrance
level stronger?
Yes, if you choose, you may add an additional
pouch of Paint Pourri to your gallon of paint.
For problem odor areas, a stronger fragrance level
might be necessary. Paint Pourri allows you to
decide on the fragrance level for each area you
paint.
Should I use Paint Pourri
in my primer coat?
Yes, for best results we recommend adding Paint
Pourri to every coat of paint you apply.
Can I use Paint Pourri
on my ceiling and trim paints?
Yes, Paint Pourri can be used on any surface you
choose to paint on, not just walls.
Can you use Mildewcide
with Paint Pourri treated paint?
Yes, Mildewcides should not negatively affect
the performance of Paint Pourri.
Does anyone else make a
product like this?
No. Paint Pourri is the only product of its kind.
No other paint additive offers the long lasting
air freshening benefits of Paint Pourri. Scentco

Can Paint Pourri be used
in craft paints?
The original Paint Pourri has been formulated
for use in all Latex and Latex enamel paints. We
are currently developing a product line: Craft
Paint Pourri. Be on the lookout at your local craft
store!
If I don’t like
the choice of fragrance after I paint, can I paint
over the fragrance with another fragrance?
Yes! Simply painting over the treated area with
unscented paint will lessen the fragrance. However,
for best results to help eliminate a previous fragrance,
we recommend a primer/sealer coat be applied over
the previously treated area before applying the new
coat. NOTE: Paint Pourri can be used in the primer
coat, if desired.
Can Paint Pourri be used
in stains, varnishes, and other coatings?
We are currently developing fragrance additives
for coatings other than latex/latex enamel – stay
